The Texas Business and Professional Women’s Foundation has established a Women’s Small Business Initiative (WSBI) program for the purpose of researching needs of women-owned small businesses and providing financial support to selected individuals in the future.
The Initiative, currently in development stages, seeks to formulate recommendations regarding the role and programs that may be needed in support of women who plan to establish their own small businesses.
The Initiative is currently exploring potential partnerships, especially targeting those organizations which may offer training programs for women small business owners.
“The future offers many opportunities for the WSBI,” said Silvia Pendleton, President-Elect of Texas Business Women. “As a small business owner myself,” she continued, “I’ve met women with great ideas and tons of potential. Sometimes a few thousand dollars may help launch them on the road to becoming a successful small business owner. A partner like the Texas Business and Professional Women’s Foundation can help open the doors for many women.”
